Iodine tests are not just a PITA they are basically worthless for aquarists. I do not dose iodine because I can not reliably test for it. It is only needed in extremely tiny amounts. Between feedings and regular water changes it is likely that you already have more than you will ever need, adding more will likely just cause problems. Remember that iodine is used to kill germs in the medical world, and it can be toxic in quite small doses. IMO, iodine suplements should have NO place in the home reef.
