Wow...I have read a lot of books on reef keeping and marine aquariums, as I am just getting into the hobby. But I have NEVER come across one mention of curing plastic buckets before using them to store salt water.

...and I just went down to Wal-Mart and bought 8 brand new 6-gal containers to make up some RO water for a new tank. They are all filled and ready to dump into the new tank when it arrives tomorrow. (Siggggghhhhh...) So I guess I'll have to dump out the precious RO water, cure the buckets and start all over.
But do you think I can "save" a week's work, and keep this water, or will the chemicals in the new buckets forever tarnish my first tank?
Thanks for helping me to avoid a major disaster!
