Hi Mad-ReefThis tank I have just recently redone - pics to come at a later date.Here is a list of what i did - note that the items with the * are not reccomended for begining reefers even though it worked for meFiltration - *HOB Filter - this i cleaned every month to 2 months to keep it from becoming a nitrate factory, I also ran carbon 24/7 in the filter and changed it out every 2 weeks or so.Live Rock and Live Sand as Other meansI did not run a skimmer on this tank.Water changes - *I slacked on these doing 1 maybe once every 3-4 months. I did however blow off the rocks every now and then to keep detritus from building up.There was no sump to this tank - not skilled enough to drill it and I'm not a big DIY guy.Lighting - I run 130 watts PC - Coralife Dual Aqualight with Lunar Lights and some indirect sunlight from the windows.Flow - I had the flow from the HOB filter - 100 or 200 or so gph and a Maxi Jet 1200 placed at the top for surface agitation. (I will be adding more flow this time around)I do have a custom built - dad built it - plexi glass top but this I am changing to an egg crate top as the glass top cuts down alot of lightI dripped kalk about once every 2-3 weeks.I hope this helps you out
