This is not going to be pretty. Took some pics of the Orca 200 when I cleaned it this past weekend.
This was after six days skimming. I have the skimmer skimming pretty dry and I get a real frothy foam head that stays in the cup for some time before the bubbles burst. No fluid stays inside of the collection cup, since the drain is located on the bottom. Lots of solids stay in there though and just cakes up. The fluid that drains out is very dark - and smelly. I drain into an open receptacle, so some of the liquid does evaporate.
Solids caked all around the inside of the skimmer.
Example of the foam head that is ever present inside of the cup.
Removed some of the foam and you can see all of the gunk that collects inside the cup.
I haven't really tried to skim wet with it yet. For now it is working well and I would rather leave well enough alone. So far, no flood! Knock on wood.
