Tank of Glass anemone

My entire tank has been taken over by glass anemone. I've tried to use Joe's juice but that seems to make the problem worst. i easily have over 300 in my tank. My main tank is a 210 g. Please help.

I was able to eradicate some of mine because they were free floating on to other locations. I siphoned them out. I have tried every product out there with limited success. I would at this point in your case look into the creatures that eat them. You could add these guys and later remove them if you want to. I have two or three left in my tank and I stick them every couple of days. Right now I'm using Aptasia Away. It's frustrating I know! If the aptasia are on the rock chances are siphoning won't work but sometimes it does if they don't have a good foothold. I am considering removing a particular large piece of rock because thats where the host anemone (that I can't kill ) lives.

peppermint shrimps work wonders. Also I have found that making your own aptasia killer from calcium hydroxide(kalkwasser) works far better than commercially prepared products.(you can make it quite a bit stronger). However be cautious as to how much you dose at a time as this can raise PH considerably. As a benefit, though, you get alot more calcium in your system.

Could anyone please tell me, is there anything other than incorrect water parameters, that would cause them to multiple so rapidly?

Actually there is really nothing wrong with your system. The good water parameters allowed the anemones to reproduce. If you didn't have one or more to start with, everything would be fine.

About all you can do now is keep fighting them. You need to kill them off by one of the various methods recommended. If you see one, you need to kill it one way or another.

It will take some work, but in time you should be able to get them all.

Should I replace the 200# of live rock that I've had in the tank for the last 2-3 years?

No need to replace your LR. You can eradicate aptasia eventually. It just takes alot of time and patience. I used to treat all that I could see in my 75g about every 3 - 4 days. After about 6 weeks they were virtually non-existant. The peppermint shrimps seem to have finished the job for me by getting the smaller ones that are hard to see or hard to reach(like in the middle or back of LR)
