Default starfish disaster

two statfish developed holes with white flesh comming out, my brittle star is loosing sections of his legs...... WHAT THE HELL?

It sounds like a predator to me. Brittle stars are designed to lose or break off limbs when attacked, is the whole on the body? I had a starfish do this once where you could actually see its inners. My only guess was the Imperator Angelfish but I never saw it attack anything but zoo’s either way it somehow survived.

What type of fish is in your tank and what are you water parameters?

hey i'm pretty new to saltwater aquariums as well. I just bought my first 2 starfish and i noticed that they will emit a white powder or sticky thread from the top center of their bodies. Is this normal or is it something i should be owrried about as well??
