Hi im back in the forum again after some serious patience building up my live rock and slowly adding snails and blue kneed crabs - its good to be back.
I havent had any questions for a while as all has been well.
At the moment i have a ORCA TL 550 with approximately 12kg of live rock with 4 turbo snails and 4 crabs and a xenia. that has been running aproximately 3 months. (gotta love those crabs!!!)
Now i am wanting to add my first fish but i dont want to make a wrong decsion that will affect adding a Jawfish. I have been advised not to add the Jawfish first so.....
I have seen a bi colour blenny (great little fellow) at the LFS that i really like but i dont want have trouble with the blenny and Jawfish and i dont want the blenny to become aggressive if i add a jawfish
As the blenny seems to be a cave and rock lover would he bother a jawfishes burrow? And would the 'teeth' of the blenny cause any damage?
Bi-color blennies are generally OK, but like anything else, sometimes you get one that is aggressive. Yes, they do have teeth, and can do dammage, but this is true of moat fish.
As for jawfish, these fish like to dig, and do require a deep sand bed.
In my opinion you shouldn’t keep Jawfish and Blenny’s in the same tank. I'm not saying you can’t but I wouldn’t, they can be aggressive towards one another.
Ah thats great thanks i will take all of your comments in to consideration before i make any final decisions.
The comp table was great i will keep hold of that!
