Ok I got one.
When using epoxy putty to secure rock work make sure the skimmer is turned off, as per instructions. It can really make a mess :hammerhea

save your time and your back. if you use the basic vaccuum tube for water changes throw out the 6 inch hose it comes with and go down to lowes and buy whatever size hose it is in 20 or 30 feet and run it straight out your door. no more buckets

I run my siphon hose for water changes to the toilet. It all goes down just fine with no flushing....C

Thanks for all the links .

I actually bought one of Michael Paletta's books and it was very good. I am looking locally for a used aquarium hopefully 75 gallons for my first saltwater/reef aquarium.

I hope to buying piece by piece for a many months and will be using this site and a few book as references. I am not in a hurry to get a tank full of coral and fish but would prefer to do stage a time slowly so it is done right.

Default famous last words.

Only bad things happen fast. With that said, trying to hold back and not go crazy is tough once you have been afflicted by reef syndrom. Good luck just try and make educated decisions. pig out................

thanks

Thanks everyone for all the advice!

I went to pick up the tank and they broke it moving it to the garage : ( I am now looking for a 70-100gallon tank for sale locally. The one thing I read repeatedly is to take your time which will work well as it will take a while once I get started. I found a realy good store but it is about 45 minutes away.

I went to a party last month and the hosts had 3 inwall reef tanks very very nice and they mentioned another tank upstairs that I can have when the fish dies : ) It was 50gallons but that would be a good start as well and I hate to think ill will towards the fish but he's had a long life LOL
