One night, I was lying in bed and thought..."Hey! What about a salt water tank?!" So I climbed out of bed, jumped on the pc and started to search and search. When I stumbled across RAG, I looked no further. A few weeks of questions (Val helped me bunches), and a few algea spurts later, here I am...a Ragger and lovin it.

Well, Val brought me over to the dark side! I had been on other sites for a few years and met Val and Vern there. When they got involved with RAG they invited me to join them. I did, although it took me a while to post anything. But now you can't get rid of me!

Thanks to everyone here for their great advice and wonderful friendship.

((((HUGS))))

When i only had a freshwater tank i used to go to another small forum. It wasnt bad for freshwater but when i started to get interested in saltwater it wasnt much help. Alf was the moderator for the saltwater forum and he was the only one that ever replyed to anything so if i had a question the only response i would get was from Alf and if he didnt get on for a few days it was a few days until questions got answered. It didnt like this and i followed some links that Alf had posted and it brought me here. At first i was overwhelmed becuase this is MUCH bigger than the other one that i was at.

Now i am addicted not only to reef tanks but also to this site. I would not be able to make it through a day at work without the help of RAG to keep my sanity. I just spent the last 3 days in NYC without rag and started to go through withdraw!

OK, i went on a bit of a tangent there but to make a long story short... ALF is the reason.

Mary,
I've been finding RAG off and on for a few years now! But I always come back because of the interesting posts, pictures and friendly atmosphere. Take care.

Ooh shameless opportunity for Karma! Hueycrew, Chameleon is also the name of a couple of, ahm, shall we say non-PG rated movies? Okay, now that my credibility as a fine upstanding citizen has been shot, can I at least get some Karma?

Seriously, I found the site surfing everything I could about reef tanks. I believe it was a google search that led me here, but it took about a week of digesting all of the different sites out there, and getting a bit disgusted with RC, that I realized this is the by far the best Reef Community site out there! The regulars, moderators and staff of RAG do an awesome job!!! Please, keep up the great work, and I will try to add any contributions and experiences I can. For example, I love being able to answer any Aiptasia questions that come up for the new folks.

Thanks again folks, especially Hueycrew if you see fit to reward such a pathetic play for Karma!

Cuddlefish, have you seen the tongue on a Jackson's Chameleon?

Hopefully that will be some good Karma. After all my Karma ran over my Dogma.

I found Rag through a search engine. I was very appreciative that there wasn't a holier then thou attitude as found on another un named reef site.

I found RAG thanx to Ghostwriter... I was on another fourm, for over a year, and learned MANY things from him, Six-liner, Clarkii, Kirbster, Clayton, and Vern... I thank these guys every day for the knowledge they have, and the ability to pass it along to me.... But that site has since fallen apart, mainly due to one persons "holier than thou" attitude.....

In closing... Thanx Ghost for pointing me here.......... I would have never found this site, and all the additional info that I have learned, if it weren't for you brotha!!!!!

Even if you ARE an Eagles fan!!!!

pathetic?.....no! shameless?........ooooh? maybe!

the end justifies the means , in some cases doesn't it?

Now, YOUR the one who knew that "chameleon" was a movie of the non-pg rating! I never knew that

<pssst..if you have a link there , throw it my way than maybe we both can get karma>
