About 1/2 of the booths require electrical. No phone lines are required. Only one internet connection is necessary. I think this years booth cost is higher than previous MACNA's.

With IMAC, 20 Amp electrical service is $75.00. Internet for one booth if router is used.

Without question, the hotel for MACNA is more sophisticated than the one used for IMAC.

This transulate into a better venue with more no cost amenities.

So let me get this straight,

200K in revenue,

$7500 in electrical costs.

$500 in internet cost

One 5 page booklet at $5 per person = $4000

$25,000 for speakers


That is $37,000 and just to be good, we will double it, then add in $16,000 for the banquet at $20 per person.

So we are at $90,000 and just basic math says your profiting $100,000 and that is not counting the diamond, gold, silver sponsorships that are thousands of dollars each.

Let me intrude to say how pleased I am that no one is taking offense. This is a perfect debate/inquest. Thank you Steven, Michael, and Patrick. I am learning a lot.

By the way, I am still listed as a member on those other sites even though I have not visited for about 3 years. I get emails from them occasionally.

It's actually quite interesting; I never knew what went on behind closed doors. Both sides make a good point for their arguments; hopefully they will resolve the issue in due course.

I am a small business owner and I am really having a hard time understanding why all this discussion is being posted on a public board.I think these issues are more of a private nature between the participating parties. no offence guys!

I have a suggestion for an agreement. RAG pays nothing for a booth and MACNA pays Electricity, Internet, and 2 Complimentary passes for RAG.

Your numbers are all wrong. I have the past two years figures in front of me. You are way high in gross income and way low in expenses.

What sponsorships? We don't have them.

You said that speakers are running $25k for expenses.

100 vendors at $900 a booth

$75 for electrical at 100 booths. Did you forget I have done this before too?

Booklets can be made at Kinkos for $1 per color page perhaps you better head off to kinkos.

Internet runs $150 per day, I know, I have ran internet for the shows for the last 3 years and given it for free to all the vendors compliments of RAG!

Called the hotel, minimum to use the Banquet hall for a banquet is $16,000 for catering via the hotel. $20 per person at 800 people.

Then to top it all off, I doubled it.

Do you think the RAG members or myself are stupid.

So basically, you want me to pay you to advertise on this site, and meanwhile enable you to make even more money because of it. (that is basically what your saying.)

Come on Steven lets just expose MACNA for what it is!

As for sponsorships, last year MACNA ran sponsorships.

Diamond, platinum . . .yadda yadda yadda, jelliquarium was one of them!

There were on the on the tune of $10,000 and $5000 and so forth.
