Sihaya,

That is the assumption that most will arrive at when reading this thread. We must remember that this is an assumption. (although you may have some inside information we cannot assume it to be true) With 2 different sides, people will have to side with those who have the most compelling argument. The most compelling arguments will be backed up by documentation.

How about lets ALL wait to hear from Eric.

cuddlefish - I wasn't actually just talking about Eric's MD post. I know he's a bit quick to threaten litigation (*one* reason being that he once asked me personally for my advise on pursuing litigation with someone else).

Regarding whether or not we should be interested in this: this seems like a no-brainer to me. The project was openly and enthusiastically discussed at IMAC and in RK. It involved hundreds of pounds of protected Florida corals taken under a research permit by one of our hobby's leaders to a commercial distributor. How could it possibly not be of interest? lol

What is a reasonable amount of time to wait?

While we wait, we can discuss what questions we would like for him to answer and why.

Was your comment addressed to MDP or everyone? Forgive my ignorance, I don't want to assume meaning there. I really don't know. MDP has not attacked or gossiped.

I have tried to figure out a better way to say that so that others would not assume I was being mean or flippant but that is not how it was intended.

I will now change my sig to include a disclaimer because I think Chuck is right - assumptions are automatically read into peoples words.

I'm sorry... which thing I said is an assumption? I am making some undocumented claims about why I think this information has stayed buried... however, I'm clearly labeling them as such and not claiming they are documented facts. Those statements of mine, like any others, you can take or leave at will.

Cuddlefish- Regarding assumptions generally; you can't think without assuming at least some things. For instances, you're assuming that this isn't all a dream. But before I get us all into a debate on existentialism, my point is only that you can't entirely and completely avoid making any assumptions at all. As you yourself pointed out, it's about reasonable vs. random assumptions.

I'm sorry - I was oversimplifying. Of course assumptions are made.

Motive is always an assumption. Some assume your motive is ulterior and shady. Others do not. I do not. I always assume people are trying to do the right thing until I am presented with evidence that is to the contrary. I may be foolish to do so since I have been burned by people I thought would never burn me. Assumptions are being made with respect to motive. THAT is not fair. Life is not fair. My kids tell me that I am unfair. I think I am being fair. But fairness is not the issue.

Wow this thread is getting out of hand.

cuddlefish - no offense but after about your 5th reply, I just started skipping over your messages. Maybes, would haves, could haves, maybe their working with him because of this or that, total shots in the dark. How is making random guesses or relating this to animal control going to bring more information to light? No matter how much it's discussed all the information we have is already out - and there isn't enough of it to make any real conclusions.

Bottom line is - everyone except some hobbyists that heard about the issue two years later and know little to nothing about it has put the issue behind them. Eric has moved on with his life, all parties involved have moved on with their life. There isn't going to be any more information released - bottom line. I'm through with this thread, this issue, and the continued conjectures made in regards to a situation that has been resolved and inactive for years.

Please stop saying 'I have information that I can't use'. Give me a break, you created a website and all of your ammunition is on that website. If there was anything else, it would be there. And if you really can't use the information, then let it go. Take a deep breath and move on with your life! You are wasting your time! Your efforts aren't going to get in the way of Eric's success, contributions, or open arms that everyone is receiving him with. You are a group of conspiracy theorists - sort of like we never landed on the moon. You are a minority and most will agree, while there is some information that is suspect, there simply isn't enough to continue a debate or draw any conclusions.

If you had read my responses instead of skipping over them, you would have a better understanding of what I am saying.

I have had to use analogies due to the fact that some did not understand what I was saying.

The point of the thread David was not to bring more information to light but to discuss the information that exists and its impact on the hobby. Working with Animal Control and FWC was just a qualifyer.

If you are through with anything that may impact the hobby, ok. This still has an impact on the hobby.
