I still have to build a stand. I'm thinking of having a metal fabrication company build one for me.

Here are a couple of shots of the new tank. Good God it weighs a ton!!!

We had a slight problem trying to get the tank around a corner through a doorway and in my haste to get a good grip I grabbed the euro brace. OOOPPSSS!!!

Any suggestions on how to fix? It's the long piece that follows the side and is underneath the piece that follows the front.

Here's what I ended up with:

240 gallon(if they are right)
3 - 3/4" holes and 1 - 1" hole for closed loop
2 overflows with 1 - 1" hole and 1 - 1 1/2" hole each
eurobracing(that looks like crap)
black acryllic covers for overflows
schedule 80 bulkheads for all holes
glass canopies(that dont fit the tank - i'll post pics on these)

I've come to the conclusion that "they" just slapped this together with no regard to craftmanship. Oh well, I got what I paid for. It was definitely cheaper for a reason.

I'm going to have to refigure some things.

That's what I was afraid of...there doesn't seem to be a lot of good press for glasscages out there.

How did you fix the eurobrace?

Since the broken piece is on top of the end wall and under the long front euro piece(not to mention behind that hideous black angled piece that wasnt supposed to be there) I thought I would just silicone a new piece under it, across the break.

I ordered some stuff from premium aquatics today. I decided to go with 3 Sunlight Optix 250w MH HQI. They were on sale. I'll buy electronic ballasts later.

I still need to decide what act's to go with. I'm leaning towards some T5's instead of PC's.

Also, I ordered a mag 24 pump. I'm gonna try this as my return pump for now. After 54" of lift it should be around 1350gph. This should be enough? Remeber I am doing a closed loop with an OM 4 or 8 way. Should I use a Dart or Iwaki55 for this?

Also, I ordered my ATO pump. Took Patrick and OSB's advice and went with aquamedic sp 3000. I think i'll do regular WC's for a while at first. eventually I would like to do continuos WC's with the masterflex aquamedic pump.

Does anyone know about the Lighthouse controller from Premium Aquatics? It sounds really simple to use and has all the features that I will need initially.
