I work for Fastenal so I was able to call up ' Green Leaf Inc.', and he was able to walk me through what fitting I had, and was specific to the hundreds decimal point which made it easy because mine matched up EXactly=1.18 inch Inside diameter. They have just about everything you would need in the way of piping your sumps/aquarium. Here is the website Green Leaf® Inc - Nylon and Polypropylene Fittings, Polypropylene Valves, Cam Lever Couplings and Tank Fittings

That's "automatic disqualification" for me ever buying anything from them. IMHO, if I can't trust their web site, I can't trust the vendor.

I didn't have any issues when checking out the site; I'm on a work computer, so I'm not very careful of these things.

To be fair, I'm a lot more strict about what I let come into or out of my computer, compared to most people, including most business systems.
I'm also using Firefox as my browser. That could have been a factor.
Even so, if I get 3rd party cookies and other assorted "garbage" it's "automatic disqualification". I can almost always find the same thing someplace else. Yea, I'm a radical when it comes to stuff like this.

Yeah, work computers are on a network, so I don't have to worry about them; that's what the geeks are paid to do!!
I'm still on a search for the right bulkheads. I measured the holes in my newest tank at 1.5 inches in diameter and 1.25 inches for the inside diameter of the bulkhead fitting. So far, nothing seems to fit. This is an Oceanic tank.

DaveK you might want to have your stuff checked i went there with my home computer, and my work computer, and didn't experience any problems. Also i can verify that isn't a huge company thus wouldn't have 3rd party cookies/spyware on their site since they are 'NObodies' and you can't pay or buy online from them. I have pc-cillin, and i am one of the GEEKS that are paid to work on servers, and i even decreased all firewall protections, so i would just have alerts from PC-cillin, i didn't get a thing. With you being a moderator i would have that check out if i were you.

Let me put it this way, my expertise in computers and information systems is far greater the my expertise in reef systems. Professionally I'm a mainframe system programmer. I think I know my way around a "tinker toy" PC. (smile)
There is no need to check anything because this sort of stuff is blocked intentionally.
Thanks anyway.

Yeah, but can you type without looking at the keys??
Anyhow, anyone have any suggestions on where to find a 1.5 inch OD with 1.25 inch ID bulkhead fittings?

Yeah GreenLeaf Inc. has them, but you don't want to go there you might have unintentional cookies downloaded.......

Flow through bulkheads depends on a number of factors:
1. differential pressure across the fitting.
2. The Cv of the fitting (how much flow a 1 psid will cause).
Cv is a common measurement in fluid dynamics. Pronounced "see sub vee" or dimensional loss coefficient or dimensional flow coefficient.
Other things to consider: is this bulkhead a vertical fitting (through the bottom of the tank), is this a horizontal fitting that is not going to have full pipe flow? lots of factors.
My advice: go with the largest fitting possible (schedule 80 pvc). It will provide less head loss and you can always size it down to whatever pipe size after the fitting. If it is for horizontal overflow, remember a vac breaker.
Just my thoughts. Feel free to ask more questions. Maybe I can locate some on-line info, but it is probably way beyond what you need.
