Dave is right. The cost of a Goni is lower compared to many other similarly colored corals and can be sold fast. It would be unusual for a LFS to have the same one in stock for long periods since they are for sale. Waterpumps use impellers so I do not know how a large system can run without one. Air pumps do not use impellers nor do lift pumps but I have not seen a lift pump on an aquarium.

I'd say you have about 10 months to go before I'd be sure of the coral not dieing on you. Still 14 months does seem to indicate you are on the right track. Good luck.

i got suckered into one by the lfs 2 yrs ago. it continues to thrive and has grown 3 new "heads". i never spot feed it, but i clean the glass a few times a week which may be all it needs.

There are several kinds of Gonis and there are a couple of other corals confused with them too,

Friends University did me bad. Simply put, I took out student loans and when the school called me to collect payment, I told them I was eligible for %15 a year loan forgiveness due to the fact I worked in a law enforcement job. Later, a loan collection company called me for the money. I told them the same thing but they said it cannot be forgiven because it was turned over to them. Friends University sent it to them the day after I told them about the loan forgiveness clause in the contract. This has been going on for years now and they by virtue of forging a signature on a "new" contract are about to experience some litigation. The idiots were dumb enough to use WHITE OUT on the contract. I have the documentation to prove it. Academically it is a very good school.

Back to Gonis........

Bobt2 - what color is your Goni. Reefers are posting that they are having better successes with the red form.
