Default Floridians... hows it with Fay?

Just curious how you Florida RAgers are doing down there right now? Anyone had to bail out and hope for the best on their tanks?! Just know that my schools prayers are with anyone down there!

It's a bunch of media hype. Guess they couldn't find any better stories.

Our regular afternoon thundershowers are worse than what we go out of Fay.

Don't get me wrong. Apparantly some areas are definately having a flooding problem but not where I'm at. We got the worst of it last Mon/Tue. Now it's just cloudy all day long with an occassional 5 min thundershower.

Any excuse to talk to my Lord the better!

We just had a school shooting here in Knoxville. One student in custody for killing another student, very sad day for us Knoxvillians so just remember us in your prayers.

As a teacher I just hate to hear these stories, especially when it's just down the road from my house. In fact one of my students mothers is a teacher at that school too!

Nope - I didn't even fill the gas cans or the cars with gas. Hell - I didn't even bring in the hanging potted plants from outside. And all are still in place.

I don't think many people took this one seriously. I was at both Lowes and Home Depot last Sunday and not one single person was picking up plywood.

The only thing this storm made me do was to go out and buy some bubblers that turn on when the power is off. I've been meaning to pick up something for the "short term". I have the generator for the long term.

Now I have 7 of these.

Will aerate and produce flow when the power goes out. 2 on my 65 gal, 3 on the 150 and 2 on the frag tank.

I was a tropical storm. NOTHING to talk about.

Storm or no storm, I needed the above items as we are always losing power down here for one reason or other.

Since we are on the topic of preparing for power outages, I recently switched from relying on a generator (which requires my being home) to a battery backup. The newer Tunze streams have the capability of being hooked up to a 12vdc lead acid battery, but you have to purchase their safety connector (nothing more than a connector with a fuse.) At 55 watts full blast, the 6201 should last 4-5 days easily with the large battery I am using. I also purchased a battery conditioner for $20 which keeps the battery fully charged.

Here is a pic:
