Craiz,

You were saying you wanted a long and deep tank that isn't tall? glasscages make some wide tanks...

150 Gal Long 60 x 24 x 25
180 Gal. Wide 72 x 24 x 25
but they are a bit pricey. I like the design of my schools 90 (which I now am hearing is closer to 85 :/ ) but they have nice reinforcement and a Euro brace on top.

If money isn't and issue, I would get 100% Starphire glass.

Even my Lee Mar scratches, but acrylic scratches when you look at it.

What does weight matter? Compared to the LR and water?

And flexing means the Joints will give sooner!

Clarity is a good reason to go to acrylic.

Lights will warp the TOP though on an acrylic also!

Go Glass or don't go!!!

i udes nothing nut glass for years. i just set up a 100 gallon acrylic that i bought used with a couple of major scratches. they make scratch buffing kits that are relatively cheap. i carried this tank up the stairs and into my house by myself. my last large reef was a 90 gallon glass, it took me and another grown man all we could do to get up the stairs with it. i am remodeling this house and plan on moving this tank again soon, so acrylic was my best option. i will most likely sell this house in a couple of years and move the tank yet again. i will probably set up a 240 at tat point as well. i'm sure i will go acrylic again. unlike the guy in the previous post i have had glass tanks leak ( one 100 gal and two 20 gal) that was another reason for making the change. best of luck either way.

Glass is my preference. I've had three acrylic hex tanks and one flat-hex acrylic tank in the past. Here are my pros and cons:

Pros:
1) Stronger than glass support/seal wise
2) Seamless corners add visibility
3) Lighter
4) Can come in cooler dimensions/shapes

Cons:
1) Scratch easily
2) Most have a lip around the top
3) Scratch removal kits partially work

Glass is so much better!

Now that I have a large glass tank, I would go glass, but low iron. The green tint becomes noticeable if the panes are large enough.
