for those with the nitrates - you might want to check the following:

any sponges should be washed out

any bioballs removed

larger water changes

less feeding

check for anything dead or dieing

Wink J'field from Singapore

Hi everyone, I'm J'field from Singapore. Some of you guys may wonder where or what this place is? Is a small country in asia.Near malaysia and indonesia. The smallest country in the world map!

I have been reefing for almost 2 years, but have start a proper 2 feet cube tank with simple and basic equipments recently.

If you ask me why i like reefing,i would say that there is always something new for me to discover. The returns from this hobby are never ending.

But one thing that i envy you guys is that my country seldom have rare bright nice corals like you all have in your countries.

Especially those in the Europe and America have lots of corals that look like gems!

Hope to learn more from you people from another part of the world.

I'll be the third... I have been keeping fw for a number of years, and have finaly overcome my fear of the salt. At this time I have a fowlr 30gal community tank and am setting up a 50gal reef on the salt side. (I have 5 fw tanks from 30 to 135 gal.) The whole reef thing i actualy quite daunting and the books available are mostly crap, so I just wanted to say thanks for having this site.

I've been told i have to type something here, or else....

I'm from the Swedish westcoast and have had my ~100g setup since october last year. The last few weeks i have been fighting with cyanobacteria, have no idea where it came from, atleast its not spreding anylonger.

Happy easter everyone.

I'll go ahead and write stuff here for those of you who haven't read my stuff anywhere else. I'm from Knoxville TN, started a 40g tank about a month ago. I have lots of things to learn and have learned a lot from the regulars here. So a big shout out to Patrick, Chuckg, that JDCME12niner!1!111one guy who has the muppet as his sig guy. Currently working on aquiring my 40 more pounds of LR so I can finish all my dang cycles then work on skimmer and whatnot. Too much to do too little time!

May as well add an intro for myself... My name is Anna, and I've been addicted to reefing since Feb. 2006. I started with a 20g (zoas & rics), and quickly added a 75g (sps)...and now we're in the process of upgrading to a 125g. Even though I'm in the middle of a tank upgrade, I've been captivated by Banggai Cardinals, and feel the need to try breeding them (and successfully raising the young). I suppose that's enough for an introduction...

ok, I will go too.. I have a 45 gal SW tank it came with a 1 year old blue hippo tang, you guessed it Dori so after a month or more no parameter changes we got a clown *mis-bar* yep,, little nemo have several snails doing a great job cleaning,, I am smiling , I don't need to clean the tank walls the snails do it,, so all is well,, no agression,, then we get two anemone,, a few hermit crabs,, all is good,, for about 1 week,, the anemone are finding their spots,, the tang take is exception to the placement of a Sebae Anemone,, he antagonizes it until it moves,, ok,, still good,, no harm no foul,, BUT in the past weeks it is continuing to be VERY agressive towards the anemone,, does *SWIM BY;s* causing turbulence,,we have noticed several spots where the tang has been stung,, but he keeps antagonizing the anemone,, no mater where it seems to go,, *BEAST* now what? my bubble anemone seems to be *ok but the Sebea is near it sos it gets some turbulence also,, I am so worried,, the tang was docile befor the anemone came,, could it be some parameter change I don't know about that is making him agressive? *we are checking them as I type here. HELP! )please excuse my error if this is not the right area to post this request .

HaHa! Hey Ian, glad you decided to come on board here. Wow! The Louisiana Reef Club is surely well represented on RAG now.

Just wanted to let everyone know that while that is a good picture of Ian's tank, it really doesn't do it justice. The tank is awesome in person!
