I think it's beyond a choice at this point for me. I'm now on two antibiotics for this latest round of infections.

I just put a bunch of live rock in the new display. ALL rock that went in it is either 100% dead or 100% cured. So I'm thinking that I may not really go through a cycle with this tank. I'm sure a very small portion of things may die off simply because of being moved and are now under a different light source or flow but that certainly won't be anything drastic.
Question is: Do I want to force a cycle to build up a good bacterial poplulation within the sand bed?
If yes, then I could simply go ahead and rescape with the two new rocks I have that aren't fully cured and let them start the cycle.

One the other hand though. There are already a few shrooms, buttons and xenia that went into the tank already simply because I needed the rocks they were on in there. A full blown cylce would certainly kill off these (not that big of deal).
I guess the other option is to simply add things in very small quantities over a long period of time and the bacterial population will adjust in small increments.
Hmmm - that vaguely sounds familiar as being the "better" method.

I'm starting to lean towards putting the new rock in now and going ahead and let it cycle there. So I have to do a water change when it's done? I don't consider that a major problem.
Darn diatom filter has a seal that's leaking now. That's how I cleared up the tank so quickly to take a photo.

I thought I saw a diatom filter hose in the tank. Man, I used to love mine, but it started to leak also. Had two of them and they both did that. I was just thinking today I really wish I still had it so I could clear my tank - when I fill it up.
So, what did the doctor tell you about your finger? Antibiotics prescribed?
Ummmm #591 above. I'm on two antibiotics. Keflex and Levaquin. The doc voted for the gloves as well. He didn't mash the worst one but I got up enough gumption to do it earlier and got some pus out. The cut is turning into a circle now. I've got the flesh eating one again.
The diatom filter did clean the tank up but I keep turkey basting the substrate trying to get the really small stuff out of it. I think it's useless. It will clould up forever.
I just found a website earlier for parts for the diatom filter. I think mines leaking a bit right at the shaft. It's still working but sucks in a bit of air as well so it is clearing but putting millions of micro bubbles in at the same time. After awhile I guess it sucks up too much air and just stops. The part to fix it is only like $5 and a few days for it to get here.
