Always wondered how an anomenonenie (dangit... STILL can't spell it and I'm a teacher!) would do under PC lighting. I hear it's so-so depending on water quality etc. yours is gorgeous Chuck!
Nope. I have a CA reactor sitting under the cabinet but it isn't hooked up yet. CA levels are staying up with just water changes.

I've always heard that you need MH's for anenomes. You might get away with strong T5's but that's just a guess.

I have the same "problem." I have a brand new LifeReef calcium reactor ready to go, but my weekly water changes (with ME salt) are keeping the calcium levels up very well. Wish I would have known this before I plunked down the money for the reactor and the rest of the system.
There really wasn't much in my tank before, but now I have a number of SPS frags in there and hopefully one day the corals will need the reactor to keep up with their calcium demand.
Did some rescaping today. I needed to pull one of my RBTA's out of the tank as well as the xenia that was starting to go crazy and the singularia that had a good hold on a center rock. (softies are being moved to my new "softie" tank)
BEFORE: 11-10-07
AFTER: 12-01-07
Changes made to the left side of rockwork. I think I managed to create more ledge edges that light will hit so I'll have more places to start SPS frags. I know the top looks awfully straight across right now but I figure once corals go in and start to grow at different rates that the "skyline" will then be interrupted and you won't even notice it.

One is still in there. I removed the whole rock, hung it upside down, peeled his foot off with my fingers and a credit card. This worked except for the last little bit of foot that was well entrenched in a hole. At that point I just tugged gently till he finally let go. Took about 30 min to get him off the rock.
I should have gone ahead and got the other one out as well. He was/is on the same rock but against my better judgement, I left him. The wife likes him. So do I. I'm just afraid that he's going to end up doing some damage to corals at some point down the road.
He's on the backside of the very top left rock which is actually angled now so that you can at least see him from the side of the tank.

After trying to give this tank as much thought as possible when building I believe that I have a serious issue on my hands.
I went with the Reeflo Dart and an OM 4-way for circulation within the tank. Believe it or not I don't think I have enough flow to sustain SPS corals. The Dart isn't opened up all the way but pretty close (85-90%). I can't open it up any further without digging a big gully in my sand bed. I may have drilled the output holes a bit too low. I am getting a nice laminar flow but it is very week at the top of the tank. Awhile back I move one SPS from the frag tank and it appeared to almost immediately decline. I put it back in the frag tank and it perked up. The only difference I see in the two areas is the flow rate.
So how slow is the flow across the top of the tank? See for yourself.
I think I'm going to have to add powerheads afterall.

Just had an idea (before any of you come up with the obvious).
Redirect the outputs that are at the front of the tank.
Problem is getting them to sit in a position that they don't dig up the sand since they are double ouputs. I may have to switch them to singles and aim them at the top of the rockwork. That actually may end up being too much of a blast and I may have to choked the Dart back even further.
Looks like I have some testing to do.
