Got you beat. Mine sat in my living room for 16 months with nothing in it. No use in getting in any hurry now.

Mine set empty for a variety of reasons. Collecting new equipment (some of which is already outdated), deciding to move to another part of the room, deciding to put tile under the tank (which led to tiling about 70% of my house) and installing new dedicated electrical circuits behind the tank's new location.

I actually ordered some things (like my sump and refugium) which I ordinarily would have made myself, but I thought I would save time and get the tank up and running sooner. Wrong!

Since moving the tank and placing it in a corner (and leaving room to squeeze behind it) I created a small area behind the tank that has a good bit of room. So, I can now move a lot of my equipment behind the tank, which would make room for a larger sump inside the stand. That is what I am contemplating at the moment. Besides, I need some good ol' DIY in my thread too. Right Chuck?

Well, the LR is just dumped in the tank. There was no attempt to aquascape it yet. I am going to just let the tank run for a little while and then get to the 'scaping. I am hoping that I will be able to come up with something special. I have a rough idea in my mind of what I want it to look like, but don't know if I can actually get it to come out the same way. We will see. No hurry, obviously.

Absolutely.

Thread A: I just purchased all this fancy equipment online. Let me tell you about it.

Thread B: I just drilled my own tank, cut my finger in the process, made my own external overflow on the back of the tank and the neighbors called the police on me for making too much noise. Let me show you some pictures of what I've done.

If you only had time to read one thread, which would you choose?

Hey, I drilled my own tank! Nothing nearly as exciting as yours though. That's why you have a gazillion pages and I have 4.

OH, AND - You bought either the same stuff or neater stuff than I did!

LOL - I wasn't actually trying to compare your thread to mine. I was just comparing a non DYI to a DYI thread in general.

Meant no offense buddy.
