Looks like it's going to be some interesting reading.

Good job, well written.

All in one day?

I built the skimmer and drilled the tank a little while ago. Now that I'm getting settled into my new house, I can get down to the nitty gritty! Oops, gotta change my location now too, no more Macon, GA for me!.

How about some more info on the plans for those holes.

Looks like fun, interesting seeing a sump the size of your tank! I look forward to following this thread for awhile!

Here's a rough top view, I've decided to wait until I do the plumbing to cut the holes in the stand. All three tank holes are for 1" pipe, with two overflows that should be close to 1200gph max. The center inlet line will split in a tee and come out both sides of the center overflow near the top. The center overflow will be 4x10" for a total of 18" of overflow.

Construction is probably going to take a while, I have to balance my desire to get everything up and running with my cash flow. I'll be doing things as the budget allows for them.

So the center hole is the inlet for a closed loop system?
The outer holes for the overflow?

I still don't get it. Seems like the holes are very low in the tank and very close together. I must be missing something.

Or that might not be it at all.

AH - I might have it. An overflow box will be built around all holes. The center hole is for the Drain (what you list as inlet). I assume you'll pipe that up with maybe a durso standpipe on it.

The two outside holes are return lines that will be piped up and over the edge of the overflow box?

The two on the outside are overflows and the middle is the return line from the pump. sorry, I just finished editing my last post. Here's another rough sketch...

OK, I almost had it - just backwards. I would suggest dursos on those overflow pipes to quiet them down. You may have a tough time getting the two initially set. Never done it myself but have heard others have had problems trying to get two in sync so they both drain even and are quiet.
