I finished the plumbing this morning and got that all up and running. The surface tension of the water is so high right now, the skimmer is going nuts. I will work on scaping the tank next week. I still have a huge mess to clean up, as well as two large tanks to scrub. Here is a crappy pic taken with a crappy camera.

It's just temporary for now. Once I am done, you will not see the excess rod sticking out of the tank. Not to mention, there will be more caves and overhangs as well. My reason for doing this is that it allows more flow behind the rock than a rock wall does. This tank is going to be very open; I have no doubts that some of the rock will end up in the sump.

I saw that you had already replied to a silly comment like mine. I just had to poke you a little more. The tank looks very non-traditional-wall like and I like it. I do look forward to seeing how you will tie it all together in the end.
BTW... your avatar... Purple Heart? Any significance to you?
Feel free to poke me with a stick at your leisure!! I am very much looking forward to getting the scaping done, but I have a BIG mess to clean up first. My fish room looks atrocious (I moved everything out of the way when I took the pictures.)
I was hit in the face with shrapnel when a mortar landed about 8-10 feet in front of me. The very same day, a man whom I grew to admire in the 5 months I worked with him, was killed in action.
OSB, have you seen the TOTM at that other web site? He started with pillars just like yours and some pvc racks as well. Not that I would send anyone over THERE, but you really should look at that tank for some aquascaping inspiration, if you have not seen it already.
