They will host on anything. The corner of the tank if there is nothing else.

How about a colt coral. Will grow too big but very easy to frag and keep it the size you want it. The branches act as nice little perches for the fish to rest on.

you also realize that you dont HAVE to have a pair of clowns, get a small Ocellarius clown, they can stay fairly small and if you keep just one you might be able to get away with it.

Chuck I haven't thought of the colt, that's a good idea. Will they host a Frogspawn?

I haven't seen it but I can't say they wouldn't. I would choose the colt over the frogspawn as the frogspawn can completely close up whereas the colt won't. I have a pair that is hosting in a colt. For some reason the colt isn't opening since I moved it to my new tank but the clowns still want "that" colt even though it is nothing but little nubs.

sounds like a plan. She'll probably be happy with the colt. So two clowns is too much? What if I change water more often? like twice a week?

Figure you have about 7 gal of water after LR and sand. At 5 gal/inch that gives you about 1.5" of fish. That's one small clown. Even liveaquaria says the minimum tank size for 1 is 20 gal.

So buy the 500 (or at least a 150) and give her the 75.

Hmmmm....not a bad idea, but 500 is out of my league(still not the greatest reefkeeper yet)(still waiting to start my 300 but that is another thread)

I do have yet another question: the powerhead in polly's 10 is 125gph. At around 7 gal of water that's a lirrle more than 17x water movement. However, no matter how I aim it(even straight up) it moves all the sand around(like to on top of the LR). Any suggestions on how to divert the flow? Tubing maybe?
