Any veterans help me out on the pic of the Galaxy, does it look happy to you? I just can't seem to get those tentacles out moving around! Ammonia, trites, are all 0, trates about 5... 78 degrees, 1.023 salinity... *sigh* just can't get much out of it and if not, then I'll find a new home where it will thrive!

Things are looking rather nice for you. I don't know much about Galaxy corals, but I would imagine that at 1.023, the SG is a tad low.

Thanks for posting the pics; always nice to see setups other than ones own. Is that a spraybar of some sort on the empty tank?

Basically water will flow over the "cardboard" into a small refugium then flow over into another chamber where the 300gph pump will be. It'll pump through a bulkhead through locklinks which have a small spray nozzle on every link. They alternate between 4 directions as the links progress from spraying downward, to a little higher, little higher, then horizontel and back down.

It will have flow all the way along the surface across the tank. The measuring tape is just holding the loclinks where they should stay. It is for a mushroom/ric prop tank that I am experimenting with, we'll see how it goes once I get the acrylic in and pump ordered. I'm looking at a hands off tank hopefully that won't have any fish, just chopped up shrooms and rics on a LR rubble bottom.

A hands off tank? If you build it, they will come (and buy them!!)

I figure I want a tank that I just toss mushrooms in on the LR rubble to grow and have a little frag rack for my zoas in it.

No fish, a few snails, NO hermits etc. It will be a custom All-In-One kind of tank with no drilling or HOB stuff on it.

Only maintenance I will do is WC every week or two, no big deal I hope!

Like I said, its a personal experiment and I want to see how well you can chop up mushrooms/rics and see if they prosper

Been awhile since I've done an update so here are some pictures of my 3 tanks at home...

FTS of my 8g BioCube on my desk... GSP, Orange Ric, Whamin Watermelon Zoas, EvilMel's Zoas, Dragonseyes Zoas, FS, Galaxy...

Here is my main tank, 40g breeder with 29g sump/fuge... I am still having a few problems with either cyano or red slime algae (probably from adding purple up cause I'm a newb :P )

Frogspawn and Leather...

Orange/white & Black/white Clowns...

EvilMel's Zoas & Frogspawn under Actinics...

Mother colony of Whamin Watermelon Zoas under Actinics...

I have recently started a 20g prop tank as a fun little addition. I have lots of zoa frags that I have been accumulating from colonies and also have an idea that I want to try with mushrooms and rics. Basically I want to see the effects of quartering up mushrooms and just tossing them into LR rubble and see what happens. So far I have quartered a red mushroom and a brown/green mushroom. I have some others that I have recently purchased or were donated that I am growing out first, once I have multiples I will try those as well...

FTS of custom 20g Prop Tank (work in progress) modeled after MonkFishs 20L...

Right lower Frag rack with various Zoas...

Close up of Zoas...

LR Rubble (mushroom fields experiment) with mushrooms and zoas...

LR Rubble with zoas...

LR Rubble close up of odd Yuma or mushroom...

Clean up crew for Proptank (will probably trade this large guy out for some smaller Astrea snails for less frag knocking)

Hope you have enjoyed my little picture adventure, sorry it's been so long before I could get some pics. I still need to figure out how to use this darn point and shoot digital camera. The colors just aren't coming out like they should :/
