Well I thought I would post the specs on my tank just incase I post a question about how to best manage my problems.
Size: 90 Gal give or take. With a 20 Gal sump and with about 7-8 gals of water in the sump.
I run a DSB that is alive.
I have about 100 lbs LR. Figi
I run an overflow over the back into the sump and water is returned via a Little Giant 4MD-SC pump.
I have 2 inches of sand in the sump and am growing red varieties of macro algae to one day feed Gladys.
I run with an Aqua C Urchin Protien skimmer. It produces well and does a lot better job than my homeade jobby.
I have three MJ 1200's in the main tank to provide circulation and one MiniJet pump in the sump to circulate that water as well.
I use a grounding probe incase anyone else does.
I also use a digital thermometer. There really is not excuse not to.
Fish: I have two percula clowns (Sammy and Bozo) Bozo has taken it upon herself to become the female although I purchased them together.
I have One Desjardin Sailfin Tang. (Gladys)
One Emperor Angel Juv (Gabriel) I can't wait for him to change.
One LM blenny (Spike)
One mandarine dragonette (Sadie)
Other Live stock:
15 or so Blue Legged hermit crabs.
4 Turbo snails
1 tuxedo urchin (Fred)
1 Brittle Star (Merlin)
1 emerald Crab (clinger)
Corals and such:
A plethera of mushrooms both green striped and red.
I have an open brain
I have a really sick looking meat
I have a really booming Hammer that I love.
And numerous hitchhikers like button polyps and feather duster worms.
Lighting:
I run two 175 Ushio 10KK MH bulbs.
I also supplement them with two 03 actinic 40 watt florescent bulbs. (I would really like to upgrade the hood to contain VHO actinics but finances are not really there.)
The lights are run for about 10 hours daily. They are on a timer. I don't have them set up to mimik the sunrise and set but hey I don't think the fish mind too much.
