Nice haevily built stand, but I'm curious how are you going to get a sump in there? PLEASE don't do one that you have to put in through the top...Deep in mind, IF it leaks or cracks or has any other failure, (and Murphy was an optomist!) you will have to take the tank down to change the sump...
Got that covered boomer... I have a new Oceanic sump coming which is 12" in width and there is 14" width inside the stand. On both side of the stand there will be removeable panels for ease of sliding the sump and fuge right out if if it will ot fit through the door, the door openings are still pretty large where i should be able to slide it in from what ive measure as well. And this thing is built to hold probably a 400 gallon tank, i guess i got a little carried away on making sure it doesnt break
All the panelling will be stained a light color, then the doors, access panels, trim, and designs will be stained a darker color to accent it.
well here it is so far with the tank finaly on it. and yes i did start the stand over. I guess cutting 2x4 after drinking for awhile with a skillsaw in the dark doesnt cut very good..... everything will be sanded tomorrow and maybe stained if i get the time.
yeah, i start the canopy next. Since i just have a normal reflector for the lighting, should i panel the inside of the canopy with some type of reflective chrome or just paint it a type of shiny white paint?
