I've had Lettuce slug's before and never
seen them go near the bubble algae.

i thought of buying a anemone crab. anybody can advise? i have many tiny gobies, wrasses, blennies, and 2 seahorse. i also have 2 anemone as well.

I have 2 porcalein anenome crabs... they are filter feeders and don't do much for algae as far as I can tell. They also have a tendacy to fight, vicously, for territory. But thus far this is my only experience with them.

Well my mithrax experience was mixed ... i had a small outbreak of the bubble algae, bought 2 mithrax , 1 died , the other thrived until no more bubbles, and then on to the soft corals he went, caught him red handed eating pom pom xenia, and my blue zoo's! He was banished to the refugium after that. I actually take him out to do some cleaning in the display from time to time

I have had no problems with my 3 greens, btw great story about them waiting for the seaweed clip. mine dont do that : (

I had a severe bubble algae problem in my 58 gallon, along with a severe aiptasia problem. I added 3 emeralds and 3 peppermint shrimp. I do get an occasional bubble now but nothing like I had. Also the aiptasia problem is history.

The key to using these for pest control is to keep them hungry. I have one yellow tang and one blue chromis in my tank and every 3rd day I feed 1/4 sheet of nori. That is it. The chromis learned to eat the nori!!!

Now the tank pretty much takes care of itself and I do nothing to it. There was an article in Coral magazine a couple years back about using peppermints as aiptasia control and I just followed their advice to keep them hungry!
