ill give away a little secret when making a pot roast. This recipe is so simple a baby could make it yet it is one delicious Sunday dinner.

You use a first cut roast
1 pack of Lipton onion soup mix
2 cans of coke
2 large onions cut into 4's

9 hours on low in the Crockpot and you will be amazed at how good this come out.

If you want a nice gray after use some corn starch and the juice left in the pot. or you could do what i like is use beef bistro and add the juice and mix to make a nice gravy. I make season potatoes and or mashed and asparagus.

Total prep time 5 min
cook time 9hrs on low
servings 4-6
And one delicious Sunday meal.

I have a ton more of great dishes easy to make and not so easy to make. I love to cook and try experiments with cooking. I got the pot roast recipe by have to make dinner one Sunday and didn't feel like preparing it the way my did it. So I opened the cabinet and look around found onion soup mix and used coke instead of water. and wa la we were hooked!

More recipes to follow...

I'd bet it would be even better with Pepsi.

(I took the Pepsi Challenge)

Sure, why not? My dad makes a chicken marinade that has PEPSI in it.

For those who make Beer Butt Chicken - try it with orange pop or rootbeer. Excellent!

Here is an easy chicken marinade recipe

Buy some terriaki marrinade/sauce - I use Kikkomen. I use 3 boneless skinless pieces of chicken and put them in a ziplock bag. Pour about 1/2 bottle of sauce over them. Take 2 oranges and use the zest from them and toss it in the bag. Then cut them in half and squeeze the juice from them in the bag. Salt and pepper the marinade and toss it in the fridge for 4 hours and place the chicken on the grill (or in the oven would work good too) let it cook like normal. It turns out pretty good. Homemade Tempura goes excellent with it of course!

Never heard it called "Beer Butt Chicken" before. It's "Drunken Chicken" down here in the south. (I am assuming we are refferring to the same thing). It is a great way to prepare chicken though, if you have never tried it.

Never heard of the either. My aunts in Florida were the ones whole told me about it. Funny how things are called different!

Just to make sure, I'm talking about when you put half a can a beer inside the chicken and sit them upright and have them cook that way

Yeah, that's it. I have a tray with two cylinders to hold the beer or other liquid for doing two chickens at once and four spikes on the corners for 4 baked potatoes. Works great.

I've always called it "beer can chicken".

My holder doesn't have the spikes for the taters though.
