Default hanging starfish

ok this is sort of a question/ advisory. added a blue linkia starfish(small) about 2 weeks ago. doing fine, and actually moving quite a bit, so i noticed one day that it was hanging upside down with 3 arms attached to the rock and the other 2 were just hanging down really weird, so at first i thought it was in trouble but the next day i noticed what can only be described as brown strands also hanging, over 2 days the strands increased in size(length). The next time I saw it it had moved, so i guess it was pooping?.?. If that is what it was doing this is just to let people know thats how they poop. so dont be worried when your star fish behaves like that. If anyone can confirm that would be great. Happy holidays all.
