Craigy & witfull,
They're beautiful. How about personality, are they hyper, or do they chase other fish? Do they eat snails or hermits? Are they top swimmers or do they stay in the rocks? Stuff like that?

Copperband butterfly-----Rating 9

I bought this beautiful fish to rid my tank of aiptasia and I am happy to say I no longer have aiptasia.

The main concern with this fish is feeding. Seems alot of people have trouble getting this fish to eat a variety of foods. I have had no problem with feeding it frozen mysis shrimp and my home made "mush".

It picks once in awhile at a coral(mainly LPS) but no real damage.

One drawback is it will find and consume all those little white feather dusters you have in your tank. To me it is a small price to pay for having just a beautiful fish. Here is a pic of mine!

TG they are model reef fish, love to swim in and around the rockwork, and will spend time hunting pods and wanting you to feeed mysisone drawback is they can be a bit shy at first and may carpetsurf if frightened.

TG,

No bad reef habits. Wrong genus, remember Thallasoma, for shrimp munching. Active swimmers and like to patrol the open water column. So much color and swim action, will make your heart go pitter patter. If tank is deep enouugh with lots of places to hide, like your tank, a greatly reduced chance for carpet surfing!

Hey, Montana, I felt the same way about my Copperband - an awesome fish, except for munching on feather dusters. I never had any trouble feeding but have always fed live food, so that's probably why. (p.s. what's the fish behind your copperband in the photo?)

Wit & Craigy, Thanks, I revise my rating to 10 on Paracheilinus and Cirrhilabrus!!

Flip, we gotta have Henis in this thread! Any downside to them?

Hey tank girl it is one of those dreaded damsels! It is a yellow tail blue damsel and I have four of them and they all have their own little territory and get along just fine!

Montana, What other fish do you have in your tank? One of the things I loved about my Copperband was that he never bothered another fish, but if a fish tried to chase him, he's turn around and chase it right back.

Tankgirl I have 4 yellowtail blue damsels, one yellow damsel and one tomato clown and they get along quite well with maybe a little chasing if territories are crossed by no injuries or that sort of thing! They act like the copperband is not even in the tank and vice versa! Johnny

Well, that explains it; you don't have any timid fish in there. That's why you like your damsels. JK!
