Yeah right, I have had fresh water for a total of about 8 years, and this is my 1st SW tank, Its 9 months old now, so that is all of my exp. with fish, and most of the FW fish were the little $2 fish, no discusses or anything hard. have had all kinds of other pets in the past, but fish are my fav. (why am I telling you this...I'm a RAG member...AKA SW fish nut)
Woodstock - yeah. bi-color are slightly aggressive but they do well in a reef tank. mine never touched any cleaner shrimp or boxer-coral banded shrimp. pretty good color too!
on the other hand even dwarf yellow groupers (1") attack anything including fish 2-3x it's size!

But, if you have other fish who can stand up to them, I guess it wouldn't be too awful. IMO, no damsels or dottybacks in my tank. It makes me clench my teeth when there's a mean fish in the tank.
Hi fidojoe, Yeah, but 9 months on the RAG is like 10 years of experience for people who aren't here. I had about 6 years of experience with SW when I joined the RAG, but still learned more in 3 months than I did in the entire time before that.
Yeah, Craigy and reiple are awesome people.

I've had an orchid dottyback for two years. Beautiful fish. Spends most of his time moving from hole to hole and hiding in the rocks but gets rave comments for its "electric" colors when it does come out. Never seen it fight with others in the tank. Holds its' own at feeding time. Like him a lot.
