Try gut-loaded mysis shrimp: they are more nutritious. I have a male target mandarin in an immature 90 gal tank (5 months) that eats these things very well, but I've heard that males are less fussy about food than females. My refugium is starting to produce alot of pods finally, and I think Cecil is starting to fill out.

Well so far every where i look for pods they want a arm and leg for them so my lfs is looking for me some now!
Mandy is a female and you know how women are ( can't please them!!!!! )
Never had a problem with any of my 6 line wrasse's ( i have 3 in different tanks )
I like them cause they eat all kinds of worms.
I have a friend that bought what he thought was a 6 line but really was an 8 line wrasse (looks the same)
and it was mean as all get out!!!

Mandarin Feeding Ideas -
1. www.reefcentral.com article "Mandarin Diner" by Marc Levenson in the REEFKEEPING MAGAZINE. The article has several pictures. I tried it last night .... my scooter blenny sure did enjoy it... I will watch for the Mandarin, today at my Mandarin Diner. I used an olive jar, too. I used boiling hot water to remove the label.

One mandarin requires at least 300lbs of live rock to keep it healthy and not starve to death....These fish can descimate a huge population of pods in a very short time.

Have a refugium that can produce enough bugs for a constant supply as mentioned is another way to keep this beautiful fish alive.

both of my mandrins turn white at night...odd that it'd do it when the lights are on, but it's possible...

Success with Manderin Fish?

Has anyone had success keeping Manderin Fish? I have heard they are difficult, but my girlfriend wants one anyway. Any suggestions?
