There are several in my tank and they just popped up. They are growing. They catch fish food and eat it. One caught a piece of shrimp a few moments ago and swallowed it whole.
I put it on a link so I wouldn't have to resize the pic

Thank you

It's Aptasia. Kill it before it overruns your tank

I read up on that, but what has been the most effective way.
Also, how did they get in. I have not added any new rock in over a year. The rock they are on, is my first rock which is a couple of years now.

Red Sea's Aptasia X, peppermint shrimp or a Copperband Butterfly fish.

I haven't done anything about them yet. I wanted to check stuff out, before trying. I saw the video on the Aiptasia X, that looks easy. My star fish hangs out under the rock where these things are. as soon as I go in with a stick she is going to try and grab it. Will this stuff hurt her. Does gobs of it fall on the floor and other critters try to eat it?
TIA
Stacey

Some will fall off in clumps. I haven't seen anything try to eat it. I've observed no ills effects from its use (except for killing the aptasia).

Hey Chuck, I shook it up like it said in the bottle, but it came out thin, but once I dribbled a bunch on the aiptasia, BOOM!!
That was totally wicked!!

Yea - it turns gluelike when it hits the water.

Go with the Red Sea Aiptasia X. Works well and won't harm anybody else. Make sure to turn off the power heads in your tank first and just stick the syringe in front of them and slowly let them gobble it up. Then the cool part. Some times they kind of explode. Then turn power heads back on.
