Gotta figure out length of time too. 1....2.....3 days? With a family you want to spend a day at the zoo or Aquarium or the "sterile" beaches. Sterile beaches are the ones where there is nothing but lots of people and sun tan lotion.

I think I may try and shoot for a long weekend in late May, actually it really does not matter as long as I tell the boss man I am leaving!!!!

Fly in Friday morning, stay at the choke and puke motel Friday night and Saturday night and fly out Sunday afternoon from Tampa.

Only would have to take one day off and only spend a couple $100 sounds like it might be feasible.

I can fly into Tampa and get a premium car for $321 so I can ferry everyone to Cuddle's place we would just need to co-ordinate flight times.

I would be arriving around 1-2pm and leaving at 5:40pm on Sunday if I do this.

OK if we fly into TPA we will only be about 10 minutes from Cuddle's place so hell, we do not need to co-ordinate times, if I go I will just play taxi!

I would love to do this. We need to nail down a date. End of May or early June for me. I even think my brother would come to. Now is the time for airline tickets. I'm in KC MO. I'm game.

Tampa Airport is a 45 minute drive to my place. I'll start looking into hotel rates. I have a relative who works in a hotel here. We can collect Saturday and then Sunday either collect or go to the aquarium and a store. Sounds like the end of May is good.

Okay I'll have to talk to the hubby; the last time we went to St. Pete it was 8 years ago
for the Little league State Champions (GA). We where there for almost 2 weeks and didn't get to see much of the beach. If I can remember ( old age ) I think it was a 7 to 8 hr. drive for us. Jacksonville Fl. is 4 hrs but we have made it in 3 hrs.

If you drive it late at night it is a short drive. The Howard Frankland bridge is notorious for backups. Just be glad you don't have to take I-4 which is known as Die 4 to Floridians. Heavy fog and brushfire smoke last week with visability of about 10 feet and people were still clocking along at 80 mph!
