Default FL Keys - Here I Come

Spending the weekend in the Keys this weekend. Mini lobster season was yesterday and today so unfortunately we missed out on that but I'm sure we'll have a blast anyway. Have reservations for Saturday already for snorkeling. The boat goes to 3 different reefs and spends an hour at each reef. Already picked up a couple of the underwater cameras.

Man, must be nice. They got any openings in the USPS? Sounds like a dream job with all the vacations and time off.

Don't forget to "accidentally" dislodge a few specimens that might get "unknowingly" stuck in your gear.

You don't even want to know what the fines for that would be.

The reef was absolutely amazing. This trip has convinced me that I need to get dive certified. There were parrot fish all over the reef picking on everything. We saw coral, sponges and zillions of fish.

I did take a throw away camera that I used up at the first of three places we stopped at so I don't have pictures of the bigger fish we saw which included a massive grouper and at least half a dozen 5-6' long reef sharks. Yes, I was swimming with the sharks. At one point I had a shark within probably 10' of me.

The photos turned out absolutely horrible. It appears that the view finder didn't work right as well as all the photos turned out blue. I'm highly disappointed in how they turned out.

SO - for some terrible shots of what me and one of my daughters saw, follow the link.

Boy, what a shame about those photos. I wonder what one of those waterproof cases for your camera costs. I think they make a cheepo nice camera thats good for down to about twenty feet or so. Sport something or other.

Snorkelled at Looe Key Reef off of Looe Key (MM 27.5). I'm told that it is the best reef down there. It was turely amazing.
