i use ozone and love it. I was alway's scared to use it because you hear all the stories of it being soo bad. I have come to the conclusion that the only people that have bad things to say about it are the people who don't use it. If you use a controller and use carbon on the output of you reactor life should be good. have been running it now for about 3 months and the water clarity is unbelievable. keep my orp 390-400.

no air dryer. I know i should use one to have max potential of the ozoner. it is a enaly 300 off of ebay for 48.00. it puts out 300mg ph. i figure if i don't use a dryer it is probably only putting out 75-100mg. I am using a millwaukee sms-125 ph orp controller.

My understanding with Ozone as I am considering it now is that you have to monitor ORP.

I have formally used ozone. I didn't have any problems with it, but just don't find it necessary. I will say that it can be a very useful tool, and in some cases I would use it in the future.

If you do use ozone, the air and water coming out of the skimmer must be passed through carbon. Free ozone in the air can be extremely dangerous.

I use a redsea auquazone plus, it has a built in ozonizer. 100 mg output, it provides way more than enough. I run it through my skimmer dumping out onto a sponge with carbon below. My orp runs at about 420. I also use an air dryer and filter the air with carbon coming from the skimmer. Iagree with dave ozone is bad but most generators dont put out enough to harm you just iritate you to the point of turning it down. But if you want the clearest water in town and better light pentration ozone all the way. Ozone in the sps tank for me is a must but i dont think the softies and lps appreciate it as much they like it a little dirty.

I use it and "ditto" to Davek and reef pig. Although my ORP stays around 320mv. I use a sanders 200mg and inject 100mg into a 120gal tank, via an air drier and coralife ozone reactor. You must use a controller, I have mine on the AquaController II.
